May 18, 2022: This Week’s COVID-19 Grand Rounds to Explore Long COVID in the RECOVER Platform

Headshot of Dr. Upinder SinghIn this Friday’s COVID-19 Grand Rounds, Dr. Upinder Singh of Stanford University will present “Long-COVID Studies Within the RECOVER Platform.” The Grand Rounds session will be held on Friday, May 20, at 1:00 pm eastern. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) created the RECOVER (Researching COVID to Enhance Recovery) Initiative to learn about the long-term effects of COVID.

The NIH Pragmatic Trials Collaboratory Coordinating Center is using its popular Grand Rounds platform to share late-breaking research and promote resources in support of clinical researchers affected by the COVID-19 public health emergency.

May 14, 2020: Healthcare Innovation Highlights Launch of NIH Collaboratory’s EHR Workshop Grand Rounds Series

An article on the Healthcare Innovation website last week highlighted the launch of the NIH Collaboratory’s special Grand Rounds series on electronic health records (EHRs). The article discusses a presentation by Dr. Robert Califf, head of strategy and policy for Verily Life Sciences and Google Health, who envisioned how the healthcare system can learn from innovations being implementing during the COVID-19 emergency. Dr. Califf gave the opening keynote address for the EHR workshop series.

The article mentions the new Healthcare Worker Exposure Response and Outcomes (HERO) registry, funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), and the RECOVERY Trial, a national platform trial in the United Kingdom. Both of these COVID-19 studies were recently featured on NIH Collaboratory Grand Rounds.

The NIH Collaboratory Coordinating Center is using its popular Grand Rounds platform to share late-breaking research and promote resources in support of clinical researchers affected by the COVID-19 public health emergency.

In this week’s COVID-19 Grand Rounds session, Prof. Martin Landray of the University of Oxford will present “The RECOVERY Trial: A UK National Platform Trial of Potential Treatments for Patients Hospitalised With COVID-19.” This new trial is randomly assigning patients to standard care alone or standard care plus one of a variety of potential treatments for COVID-19. The Grand Rounds session will be held on Friday, April 24, at 1:00 pm eastern. Join the online meeting.
