DESCRIPTION:IMPACT Grand Rounds \nSusan Huang\, MD\, MPH\n“Evidence for Reducing Infections\, Hospitalizations\, and Antibiotic Resistant Pathogens in Nursing Homes Through Universal Nasal Decolonization and Bathing with Chlorhexidine” \nSusan Huang\, MD\, MPH\, is a professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Health Policy Research Institute at the University of California Irvine School of Medicine\, and the medical director of epidemiology and infection prevention at UC Irvine Health. Dr. Huang studies healthcare-associated infections with a focus on multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs). She was a member of the NIH Health Care Systems Research Collaboratory for Pragmatic Clinical Trials to prevent MRSA disease and other healthcare-associated infections. She also studies the regional prevention of MDROs in hospitals and nursing homes through epidemiologic studies as well as simulation models.
